Controls Engineer

Your role with us:

As a Controls Engineer for Pearson Packaging Systems, you will prepare detailed secondary packaging equipment designs based on written specifications of desired machinery functions, including panel designs, wiring schematics, and instrumentation layout. You will prepare detailed specification, BOM’s, and cost estimates for our customers, and provide support to Sales, Project Management, Assembly, and Service both in the field and on the phone as needed. Travel up to 25% may be required.

You have advanced technical skills.  You have experience generating and validating concepts as well as designing and coordinating assigned projects. You are skilled in the programming and troubleshooting robots, ideally FANUC.

You are a strong communicator.  Technical skills? Check. But can you also provide engineering support to cross-functional teams  and customers in a professional manner? Strong communication skills are critical to this role.

  • By quickly and creatively solving engineering challenges, allowing machines to be delivered on-time and within scope

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of PLC, HMI, Servo control, and integration experience. Allen Bradley Logix PLCs and PanelView Plus HMI’s is a plus.
  • AutoCAD experience. AutoCAD Electrical experience is a plus.
  • 3+ years robotic integration experience
  • RIA and electrical code knowledge
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Excellent technical, verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
