Kit RSP

Maximize Uptime with Pearson's Spare Parts Kits

Avoid unplanned production downtime from parts that have reached the end of their life or failed unexpectedly. Even if your packaging equipment is new and parts are still under warranty, having a spare parts kit on hand eliminates lead times and extended productivity gaps.

Pearson Recommended Spare Parts List

In general, our recommended spare parts kits contain replacements for items that wear over time, such as linear bearings, valves, cylinders, vacuum generators and cups, glue nozzles and belts. You may also find rebuild kits for cylinders, vacuum generators and tape heads. Electrical components may include fuses, bulbs, relays, sensors and limit switch actuators.

While the above list is a general guideline, each finalized machine is reviewed by our team of experienced engineers to select the specific and most commonly replaced parts based on the individual application.

What Is a Recommended Spare Parts Kit?

A Pearson Recommended Spare Parts (RSP) kit is a machine-specific set of replacement parts, selected by our engineers from your machine's configuration and serial number, that you keep on site so a failed sensor, belt, valve, fuse or vacuum cup doesn't stop your line while you wait on a lead time.

A packaging line can be stopped by one small part — a sensor, a belt, a valve, a fuse, a vacuum cup. These are not always expensive parts, but if they're not available when you need them, the downtime can become expensive very quickly.

A Pearson Recommended Spare Parts Kit is a machine-specific set of recommended replacement parts designed to help our customers keep critical components on site before they are needed. Depending on the equipment, a kit may include mechanical parts like bearings, valves, cylinders, belts, vacuum components and tape head items, as well as electrical parts like fuses, relays, sensors and limit switches.

We're not just putting random parts into a box. We look at the machine configuration, the application wear items, commonly replaced components, and parts that may have longer lead times. Pearson's internal criteria include consumables, high-wear components, parts expected to be replaced in less than a year, components with mean time before failure under one year, and components with longer lead times.

Pearson's experienced engineers identify the most commonly replaced parts based on your specific machine and application. From the machine serial number, we can help identify the recommended spare parts list for that specific equipment. Customers can purchase the full kit or use the list to order individual parts.

Having spare parts kits on hand eliminates lead times and extended productivity gaps, even for parts still under warranty.

Why Keep a Kit On Hand

Three reasons operations teams stock a kit before they need one.

Downtime Outruns the Invoice

A vacuum cup or a photo eye costs very little. The production hours lost waiting for one to ship do not. The kit closes the gap between failure and restart.

Warranty Doesn't Cover the Wait

Warranty covers the part, not the lead time. If a covered component fails and it isn't on your shelf, the line is still down until it arrives.

Built for Your Machine

Our engineers review the actual configuration and application before selecting anything. You get the parts your machine wears through, not a generic box.

How Your Kit Is Built

Every kit is assembled against the machine it's for. Nothing is pulled off a standard list.

1

Your Machine Is Reviewed

Once a machine is finalized and released to production, Pearson engineers review its configuration and the application it runs.

2

Parts Are Selected

Engineers choose the most commonly replaced parts for that build, measured against Pearson's RSP criteria rather than a generic list.

3

You Get Your List

Buy the complete kit or use the list to order individual parts. Additional parts and quantities can be added on request.

What Qualifies a Part for the Kit

  • Consumibles
  • High-wear components
  • Replacement expected within one year
  • Mean time before failure under one year
  • Long lead-time components
  • Wear items specific to your application

What's Typically in a Kit

Contents depend on the machine. This is the general shape of a kit — your list is built from your machine's actual configuration.

Group Typical Contents Typical Quantity
Mecánico Linear bearings, valve manifold and inline valve assemblies, cylinders and cylinder rebuild kits, rotary actuators, vacuum generators and cups, rod ends and alignment couplings, glue nozzles, power transmission and side drive belts, cam followers, shock absorbers, flight lugs, chain attachment links, tape head and tape head rebuild kit, vacuum blower filter elements, speed line belt assemblies, vacuum hose One of each type used on the machine; 2:1 on vacuum cups and cam followers
Eléctrico Fuses, bulbs, relays, sensors — limit switch, photo eye, pressure, proximity and ultrasonic — limit switch actuators, guarding interlocks, reflectors One of each type used on the machine; 2:1 on bulbs
Nordson Glue Melter trap filter, manifold heater block, hot melt hose, glue applicator head and module, glue head nozzles, gun filters, melter flushing service kit, high-temp lubricant, nozzle cleaning kit Glue-sealed machines only; several items are scheduled PM consumables

RSP Kit Questions, Answered

What does RSP stand for?

RSP stands for Recommended Spare Parts. An RSP kit is the set of replacement parts Pearson recommends keeping on site for a specific machine.

How does Pearson decide which parts go in my kit?

Pearson engineers review your machine's configuration and application, then select the most commonly replaced parts. A part qualifies if it is a consumable, a high-wear component, expected to be replaced within a year, has a mean time before failure under one year, or carries a long lead time.

Do I have to buy the entire kit?

No. You can purchase the complete kit or use the recommended parts list to order individual parts as you need them.

My machine is still under warranty. Do I still need spare parts on site?

Warranty covers the part, not the lead time. If a covered part fails and isn't on your shelf, the line is still down while it ships. Having the kit on hand eliminates that gap.

How do I find out which parts are recommended for my machine?

Send us the machine serial number. From the serial number we can identify the recommended spare parts list for that exact piece of equipment.

Can I add parts or extra quantities to a kit?

Yes. Additional parts or quantities can be added to the kit on request, and the price is adjusted accordingly.

Does the kit cover the Nordson glue system?

On glue-sealed machines, yes. The Nordson portion of the kit covers melter and gun filters, a manifold heater block, a hot melt hose, an applicator head and module, nozzles, a melter flushing service kit, high-temp lubricant and a nozzle cleaning kit — several of which are scheduled preventive-maintenance consumables.

Which Pearson machines can get an RSP kit?

RSP kits are built for Pearson equipment across the line — case erectors, bliss formers, tray formers, case packers, case sealers and robotic palletizing cells. The contents differ by machine because the kit is built from that machine's configuration.

What does an RSP kit cost?

Kits are quoted per machine, because contents depend on the configuration and application. Send your serial number and we'll return the recommended list with pricing.

Why not just order parts when they fail?

Because the expensive part of a failure is usually the wait, not the part. A sensor or vacuum cup is inexpensive; the production hours lost waiting for it to arrive are not.
