Senior Systems Applications Engineer

Description

Pearson is looking for a Senior Systems Applications Engineer who will work closely with the Sales team to engage in solution-based selling to current and potential customers. This position requires the ability to thoroughly evaluate customer requirements in order to create a needs analysis before conceptualizing and presenting complete system solutions to top-tier food, beverage, and personal care manufacturers in the US and worldwide.  Customer-focused and results-orientated is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical liaison expert when traveling with the Sales team in the field to determine the system requirements of customers and develop a solution that exceeds customer expectations in a cost-effective and competitive manner
  • Prepare proposal documentation and supporting materials to present to the customer (electronically or in person), ensuring technical concepts are clearly explained and meet customer expectations
  • Partner with Project Management and Design Engineering to transfer ownership of the system project details and documentation after the successful sale of a system
  • Maintain a dynamic engineered systems library and a product portfolio of both quoted and sold solutions for future reference

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering related field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience as a Systems Applications Engineer
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering, controls, robotics, material-handling, secondary packaging machinery, and system integration
  • Demonstrated ability to validate concepts, line performance, efficiency and output
  • Proficient in the use of animation, simulation, and emulation is a plus
  • Ability to engage in solution-based selling to evaluate and draw up a needs analysis based upon customer requirements
  • Superior problem-solving ability and clear, concise communication skills
