Inventory Control Lead

Location: Ashland, VA

Description

We are looking for an Inventory Control Lead to join our Supply Chain team. This individual will be responsible for leading all functions required to support the movement of materials through the company, including receiving, stocking, taking inventory, and issuing materials.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and responding to inventory-related problems, while working with the appropriate departments to resolve issues
  • Coordinating with Purchasing and Accounts Payable departments to resolve discrepancies relating to inventory accuracy and receiving
  • Ensuring purchased and manufactured parts are received and issued in a timely fashion, and monitoring Inventory workload to ensure required actions are completed in order to meet production requirements
  • Ensuring computer records reflect current information regarding inventory value, specifications, location and inventory balances
  • Providing leadership to Inventory personnel, and working with the Inventory Manager to establish and evaluation the daily work load, and assign tasks as required to staff members
  • Working with the Inventory Manager to establish cyclical inventory procedure in accordance with ERP system
  • Working with the Inventory Manager to establish procedure and monitor the disposal of excess/obsolete inventory to minimize financial loss to the company; coordinating the return of materials to vendors
  • Ensuring that cycle counting is done as scheduled

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control functions in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of inventory control management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work with computerized ERP system and to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Demonstrated organizational skills required to maintain an organized and professional work area
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and share the values of the organization as expressed in Pearson’s vision statement
  • Forklift operation experience/training
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
