Pearson Packaging Systems successfully partnered with Amazon recently to help integrate robotic applications into Amazon's North American operations. The project entailed the creation of individual palletizing cells, which consisted of a FANUC certified robotic arm, Pearson custom end-of-arm tooling and controls, as well as pallet docks and safety cages. As part of the automation transition, Amazon chose to retrain current workers to operate the new robots, rather than reduce their workforce.
