Project Engineering Manager - Ashland, VA

Description

Pearson's Project Engineering Manager will provide engineering and project knowledge to manage the production of automated packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will be required to direct engineering teams in the execution of complex projects and deliver high quality products on time and within budget. Additional responsibilities:

  • Prepare, schedule, and monitor engineering work assignments to ensure performance objectives are achieved within labor and materials budgets
  • Coordinate, perform, and trouble-shoot challenges that occur during concept generation, design, production and servicing of machinery
  • Prepare and administer the Performance Management Program; participate in staffing assessments and hiring processes, including training and mentoring engineering staff to meet with current business requirements
  • Develop and maintain department standards, including process, design and purchased component usage

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-7 years' experience as an Engineer supervisor
  • Min. two years administering Performance Management Programs
  • Sound knowledge of engineering processes and their effect on company processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate assigned projects, and train and guide team members through the production processes
  • Professional experience in providing sound judgement and leading and organizing cross-functional teams
  • Capable of accepting responsibility and accountability of new and varied assignments
  • Excellent technical, written and verbal communication, and organization and problem-solving skills
