Installation Site Manager, Systems Solutions Group (Remote)

PSSG's Installation Site Manager is accountable for the progress, successful completion, and final assembly of PSSG projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and contractual agreements. The qualified candidate ideally lives in or near one of the following locations: Chicago, IL; Atlanta, GA; or Richmond, VA.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Report progress of project installation to PSSG Project Manager
  • Review, interpret, and respond appropriately to project documents supplied by PSSG, customer personnel, and third-party resources
  • Estimate and manage installation resource requirements and commissioning schedule
  •  Act as main point of contact for PSSG, customer personnel, and third-party resources
  • Lead daily discussions of Pearson safety rules and ensure adherence by PSSG, customer personnel, and third-party resources
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in system installation, including: assigning tasks to installation technicians; transporting and unloading machinery, parts shipments, materials and tools, etc.; ensuring customer facility access; directing and participating in assembly of system; site clean-up of waste and/or unused materials
  • Document all on-site activities, findings, and follow-up actions and complete final installation sign-off prior to leaving customers' facilities
  • Up to 80% travel anticipated (typically 10 days on, 4 days off)


  • Associate's degree or 1-2 years of vocational training preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum five years' experience in mechanical and electrical assembly and installation of heavy machinery
  • OSHA training or certification preferred; additional specialized skill training/certification may be required
  • Strong familiarity with product, case, and pallet conveying, and robotic and packaging equipment
  • Innate capability to create order out of chaos in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, fluid environment with dynamic priorities
  • Inherent aptitude to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical and executive audiences
  • Excellent customer service skills, including demonstrating empathy and responding to customer feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound judgment and the ability to lead and organize cross-functional meetings and direct people in a professional manner
  • Excellent technical, written and verbal communication, and organization and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
