Field Service Engineer - Ashland, VA

Description

Pearson's Field Service Engineer will provide technical and programming field support for customer installations and existing equipment. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot programming, electrical and mechanical issues, and provide controls support and engineering staff support as needed. This position requires 90% anticipated travel.  Principal responsibilities:

  • Provide in-field and phone support to various customer facilities for equipment service, commissioning, and upgrades
  • Document BOMs, programs, schematics, findings and recommendations to maintain accurate trip reports and support new projects
  • Become a FANUC Certified Service Provider within 18 months of hire date

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associates Degree in automation or robotics
  • Demonstrated experience with automated equipment and at least two of the following: PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor control, servos or robotic equipment
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley RSLogix 500, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, Allen Bradley Factory Talk View, and FANUC Robotics TPP
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability of new and varied assignments
  • Ability to problem solve and make independent decisions under aggressive project deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills
